Shervin Pishevar, Venture Capitalist And Entrepreneur

Shervin Pishevar is venture capitalist and serial entrepreneur. He was the co-founder and managing director of Sherpa Capital as well as the co-founder and chairman of Hyperloop Technologies, Incorporated. To date, his activities as an angel and seed investor have resulted in his contribution to 60 companies in the following fields:
• Social Commerce
• Ad Tech
• Mobile Sector
• Media Sector

His successful efforts could be partly attributed to his earlier position with Menlo Ventures. There Shervin Pishevar helped launch a $20 million seed fund, the Menlo Talent Fund. Through Menlo Ventures, technology-enabled companies he founded and operated have reached an aggregate of 100 million users: HyperOffice, Gaming Network and Webs.com. By the end of his tenure there, Shervin Pishevar had $4 billion under management.

Shervin Pishevar has a long list of accomplishments. He has served on many advisory boards, represented the U.S. and been honored for his achievements:
• ComScore- he was one of ten members of the U.N. Foundation’s Global Entrepreneurs Council
• Entrepreneurial Ambassador-he represented several state department delegations to the Middle East and Russia.
• Key Note Speaker-he spoke at President Obama’s Summit when addressing Algeria on entrepreneurship.
• Selected as Outstanding American by Choice-he was chosen by the Department of Homeland Security out of 100 naturalized Americans selected to compete f the award.
• Co-authored the first set of international guidelines for documentation of torture- for the Journal of the American Medical Association leading to the Istanbul Protocol and as of 1999, an official document of the United Nations.
• Elected member and vice president Pro Tempore of the Montgomery County Board of Education in Maryland. He helped manage one of the largest (120,000 students and 15,000 teachers with a $1 billion budget) school systems in the U.S. develop one of the highest quality systems in the nation.

Shervin Pishevar was born in 1974 in Tehran, Iran. He moved to the United States with his family after his father, Abraham Pishevar, a television and radio executive was targeted by the Ayatollah Khomeini execution for broadcasting instructions to other Iranians on how to leave the country. Shervin Pishevar was educated at the University of California at Berkeley. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in interdisciplinary studies. He is also holds U.S. patents for several inventions.
