It’s been 12 years since the “Bad Boys” team of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence caused mayhem across the Silver Screen. During this time, there have been many instances where their resurrection has been discussed. Now, according to the Hollywood trades, Joe Carnahan has emerged as the potential director of the third entry to the series. In fact, he may also be rewriting the script, initially written by David Guggenheim. The news of this project finally moving forward appears to back up last years confirmation by Bad Boy star himself, Martin Lawrence, who said at the time that Bad Boys 3 was definitely moving forward after he himself had a conversation with Mega-Producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who also produced the first two films. In respects to Joe Carnahan, it seems the announcement came as a surprise to him. Per his twitter feed, Carnahan had this to say: “BAD BOYS announcement was just as much of a shock to me as it was to you…not saying it isn’t true mind you, just shocking.” Has Bruckheimer and Sony found their man in Joe Carnahan? Although Carnahan seemed surprise by the announcement, it appears much more is going on behind the scenes. The Madison Street Capital squad is going to stay tuned!
