Brian Mulligan is a critical acclaim Opera singer from New York.He has always been interested in theater. He was 17 when he first begin to sing. During his high school days, he performed as Motel Kamazoil in Bock’s “Fiddler on the Roof” and as Tony in Bernstein;s “West Side Story”.While he was performing those musicals is when he begun to grow a passion for Opera. Mulligan high school teacher suggested that he should get some intense vocal training from Todd Geer. Todd was a great voice teacher to Mulligan. He introduces Mulligan to all of the great musical that Opera had to offer. Mulligan then begins to see performances at Tri-Cities Opera.Seeing theses performances is when his love for the Opera truly sore. He studies at the prestigious Yale School of Music, Eastman Schol of Music and Julliard.He made his first debut at the Metropolitan Opera in the year 2003.
During this time, he was still a student at Julliard. Ever since he first debut, he had wonderful successes.Some of the opera houses he performed at includes San Francisco Opera in which he debuted as Marcello in La Boheme and Lyric Opera of Chicago in which he debuted as Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor. Another great place he performs at is the Oper Frankfurt as Prospero in Ades The Tempest. These are only a handful of some of the great opera places that he perform.
Some of his most recent performances include Chorebe in Les Troyens with Donald Runnicles and Renato in Un Ballo in Maschera with Nicola Luisotti. He has also performed at Wexford Festival Opera, Aspen Musical Festival, and Carmina Burana with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Gustavo Dudamel to name a few. Even though he already have an extensive resume, there are still some roles that Mulligan would love to perform.He hopes one day that he will get the opportunity to play the role in Sondheim’s “Sweeney Todd”, Rodgers and Hammerstein “Carousel” and also at Leigh “Man of La Mancha.
